National Libraries Day - 8th February 2014

The Learning and Skills Centre ran a competition recently to celebrate National Libraries Day.

Congratulations to Maryam Safari for her entry for 'What do you think libraries will look like in the future?'

'In my opinion, all libraries in the future should concentrate on individual techniques to help people step-by-step to improve the quality of reading instead of quantity of study.'

National Libraries Day

The Learning and Skills Centre ran  another competion for National Libraries Day recently.  We asked you to tell us 'Why you love your Library' or 'Recommend your favourite read or most helpful coursebook'

Two lucky winners each received a £10 amazon voucher.

I love my library because...

It provides me with a large selection of books that are both novels and revision guides for my college work. the library also provides me with computers so that I can go to a quiet relaxed place to complete work. The library also has friendly staff who are available to help whenever you need it.

The Book I recommend is...

At Bertrams Hotel by Agatha Christie because it was the first Christie book I ever read and with its detailed and ingenious clues throughout the book and ultimate reveal it was spectacular. despite being one of the lesser known Christie novels, it's absolutely underrated and one of her best reveals.

Enrichment Book Groups

Do you like reading?

Would you like to share your thoughts and feeling about stories, in a warm and friendly atmosphere (with tea and biscuits)?

Then join one of our Book Groups at Colcot Road, The Parade or Trowbridge! They start at 1.30pm every Wednesday in the Learning and Skills Centres, and you can expect some interesting chat, new discoveries and an enjoyable way to share books you like.

Come along this Wednesday 19th September to see if you like it. You can bring a favorite book, something you are in the middle of reading, or just turn up and take a look at the books we've brought to share.
